Hurrah! After a fairly barren 2018 with just one WHW gaming event for 30K (the Invasion of Lannar IV which I attended and wrote about here) there’s a fast start for Heresy in 2019. A ToS in February. Here’s the link, if you’re thinking of coming, stop thinking and just sign up.
There’s been some saltiness on the internet (I know, right, who knew?) about the timing as it’s being played the weekend after the HH weekender but I don’t go to those – my scheduling issue is that it happens the weekend before the 40K GT Heat 4. I think it’s do -able (and I’ve bought a ticket so I have the option) but it’ll be a fairly mad week.
And what will I take?
When I attended the Lannar IV event I came away fairly exhausted. I think that was the number of games (seven across one evening and two days) but also I took some fairly high model count lists (you can find them here).
As I don’t get to play very often, remembering rules and stats for all my units is something I’m terrible at and I tend to be quite a slow player because of that. I think I’ve found a solution – I’m being THAT guy and taking knights.
I’ve had an IK army for a long time; in previous editions of 40K I’ve wanted an army that’s relatively quick to paint and play with (I didn’t blog about those attempts to get in to 40K and it’s a good job because they didn’t get very far). My lack of experience tones down the OP-ness of Knights anyway (but I still don’t make many new friends).
Using Tom’s list building advice (you can find that here) here is what I’ll be taking. Any comments or queries, very welcome!!
