The Invasion of Lannar IV – a wrap up

Hello!

So, it’s been a few days since the WHW 30K narrative event ‘The Invasion of Lannar IV,’ and I’m back in Tbilisi having had time to reflect.

I wrote about the event when I booked the tickets here and also how the weekends usually play out for me here.  I will write about the games, but how did the weekend stack up overall?

TL;DR, I really enjoyed it.

The detail…

The gaming.  I played all seven of the games (there was the option to sit out the Friday night 4K game).  One of the games was excellent, all but one of the games were good (for different reasons that I’ll post about later) and the 1K point level scout games were a real revelation

The atmosphere.  Again, a good craic.  I didn’t play any mega #WAACFGT lists and all but of my opponents were good dudes.  The atmosphere was relaxed (there were no individual gaming awards)

The painting competition.  Fulgrim didn’t win.  I’ll analyse that separately in a later post.

The food.  Sorry WHW but the food has sunk to a new low.  I wouldn’t give it to my dog and, to be honest, she wouldn’t eat it if I did.

Apparently this is the only HH event at WHW this year and there’s only one scheduled for next year.  I’ll definitely be at that – I feel like there should be more.
