ANNOYINGLY I RAN OUT OF ‘PHONE BATTERY FOR THIS GAME AND FORGOT TO TAKE PHOTOS OF GAME 6 TOO.
Emboldened by by game four win I rocked up to the last game of the day (2.5K points, my preferred size) against Ellis and his IF. My lists are here.
Ellis is relatively inexperienced but I was still very nervous after I got seized for first turn. He had a Typhon and I had a huge blob of assault marines. It was a standard objective camping mission and I was expecting to take some first turn punishment but actually Ellis just moved a couple of inches and that was that.
A bit of inexperience there let me press up and get all the cover and objectives I could. Then in turn 2 Ellis brought Garro down right in front of my 15 assault marines and Eidolon. I was a bit spooked. I’ve never played Garro before. Clearly he must be a combat psycho and buzzsaw through units right? No, turns out he’s not and he got dusted, hard.
That seemed to take the wind out of Ellis’ sails to be honest and he really shrank back into his shell. Fulgrim got involved in chopping up some termies and it turned into a bit of a rout.
