Ok so right off the bat; I’m not affiliated with any of these sites or individuals. I am a patreon supporter of some of them (where that’s the case there’s an * next to their name) but that’s me paying them, not them paying me.
There’s a lot of hobby content out there and this is not the definitive list of cool dudes by any stretch but here are some people / groups that really inspire me. If you know of any others then message me!:
Podcasts
All of the podcasts below are 30K focused (I’m sure I’ll try and expand that as my 40K and AoS interest grows).
The Eye of Horus Podcast* (https://soundcloud.com/eye-of-horus-podcast). Might take you a couple of episodes to really tune into the humour but these boys are legit. Very, very funny with a heavy emphasis on events (non competitive) and growing the community. Australia focused in terms of their own events but their influence is pretty much global now.
Long episodes and some great legion reviews (the Emperor’s Children episode is still some thing I listen to fairly frequently) make these lads a good companion on long journeys. My favourite hobby resource. Now branching out into some other GW products (Necromunda in particular). In fact, if you can make it through any episode without laughing out loud, delete my number.
Radio Free Isstvan* (https://soundcloud.com/theforgottenlegion30k). Great content with some very interesting list reviews (I’ve had a list reviewed on the show and it was very useful). Four great hosts with good balance of knowledge and skills. Very USA focused so a lot of it passes me by but, again, great easy listening.
The Imperial Truth* (https://www.facebook.com/the.imperial.truth.au/). The first 30K podcast. Very different to the other two listed here (Michael from RFI described The Imperial Truth as ‘The BBC of Heresy, whilst we [RFI] are more like MTV,’ and I think that’s bang on the money). Greg, the host, has an encyclopedic knowledge of Heresy and is deeply embedded in most aspects of the GW hobby whilst his co-host Neil is a multi Golden Daemon winner. This one won’t have you rolling around in the aisles but it’s very thoughtful, considered, high quality content.
Painters
Richard Gray* (https://www.patreon.com/RichardGray/overview)
I’ll come out and say it; if there is such a thing as reincarnation, I want to come back as Richard Gray’s wet pallete. Even after I’ve watched his videos and seen how simple he makes painting, I still think he’s a magician. At the time of posting all of his direct tuition patreon packages are sold out but I know he runs courses (I’ve taken a lower value patreon level so I get videos etc). You may be able to paint. You may be able to paint very well, but then you see this and, well, yeah…

Vince Venturella (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLcdsbwBroEmD2fNEJhcju6PD7qRmoo04Y).
Really good series of videos (the Hobby Cheating ones, I haven’t watched the Warhammer Weekly stuff) covering a wide range of techniques. Vince’s videos range in length but aren’t usually all that long; they’re usually very forensic detail on a single topic (painting clean, white linen for example).
This might sound like a criticism but it’s not; Vince is a better teacher than he is painter (although I’d be the first to say he’s a much better painter than me!) His videos will make you a better painter, period, but if you just want brush porn then you may be better off with Richard Gray (above) or someone like…
Ben Komets (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VepXVggrfiE)
The housewife’s favourite, Ben has his own channel and Patreon now and you should definitely look that up but not before you’ve checked out the stuff he did with the short lived but brilliant Painting Buddha on Youtube (I linked the first Stormcast Eternal NMM video above).
The quality of the videos helps (they’re gorgeous) but Ben is clear, methodical and a brilliant painter. Rock on.
Other stuff
1d4chan (www.1d4chan.org)
Gaming wiki with a huge amount of topics, a very adult language bias and, largely, irreverent humour. Really deep (microscopic detail) on tactics for every 30K and 40K army and list choices. I like it, lots of people hate it. Just don’t ignore it.
